I created BALI LASH in 2020 when I was stuck in Bali due to border closures from Covid.

Since I was jobless and alone in a foreign country with no way home I was really scared about what I should do. After wallowing in distress and anxiety for a week or two I knew it was time to shift my focus into following my dreams - I mean, what better time than now? The island was on complete lockdown, all I had was time and my computer.

The brainstorming began.

For 5 years I had been involved in the beauty industry- creating content and reviewing brands.. falling more in love with anything beauty and makeup. One thing stood out to me - everything was geared towards maximalism and doing the most. It never struck me as being realistic or something any of us would do on a normal, daily basis.

I knew I had to change it. But, what and how?

Suddenly it dawned on me.. the one part of makeup I struggled most with (and knew I couldn't be alone on this) is false lashes!

The glue, the magnets, the excessive glam styles and extra long lash bands. They always looked ridiculous on me, if I could even get them on right, and don't get me started on the mess.

SO the process began. I knew I wanted to create lashes that could be worn day to night and knew I must create an easier way to apply them.

I wanted ease. effortlessness. subtly. simplicity. Bali lifestyle in a beauty brand form.

On top of that, I wanted to do my part for the environment as it's often overlooked in the beauty industry. Bali has banned single use plastic - seeing the shocking amounts of litter on the beautiful island really made me realize how big of an issue plastic is. While it's difficult to be 100% plastic free, I knew some change was better than none. I knew plastic lash trays were not an option.

After product and packaging testing I landed on a clean formula for my adhesive eyeliner and packaging made with recycled plastic. Then, I spent 2 years creating the highest quality lashes that looked good.

Above all, I wanted to bring the Bali experience, feeling, and lifestyle to your everyday routine. BALI LASH stands for effortless beauty, spending less time on your routine and more time in your actual life, and being more environmentally conscious.

The Bali babe is one who likes simplicity. She doesn’t want to spend too much time getting ready. She would rather get on with her day, enjoy sunset walks on the beach or strolls through the rice paddies. She’s light hearted and free spirited; never wants anything to be complicated. She likes her life to be effortless without having to sacrifice quality or looking her best.

Let’s face it.. in 2020 we learned to go back to the basics, including makeup. We don’t all have the extra $$ for lash extensions, and we aren’t all blessed with long perfect lashes (le sigh). We wanted to create the perfect hybrid way to complete your natural glam look.
